How to use these tools together

  1. Know your leftover. Start with the paycheck budget calculator. It assigns every bill to the paycheck before its due date and shows what is left over in each pay period, so you can see a tight paycheck before it happens.
  2. Give the leftover a job. Decide how much goes to debt and how much to savings. The debt payoff calculator shows how much faster you are debt-free, and how much interest you save, compared with paying only the minimums.
  3. Plan the irregular costs. Car repairs, insurance, holidays and vacations are easier as small monthly amounts. The sinking funds calculator turns each one into a monthly and per-paycheck number.
